This therapeutic process is designed to cleanse the body, particularly the digestive system, and restore balance by flushing out excess Pitta dosha and impurities. “Virechana” comes from the Sanskrit word “Vi,” meaning “away” or “out,” and “Rechana,” meaning “to expel,” symbolizing the act of expelling accumulated toxins to promote health, vitality, and balance.
